There should be an Effulgence thread

Plain old discussion of Alicorn stories.

Alright, thank you! Sounds like I have a lot of reading ahead of me before I can read the new threads.

I don't anticipate us proceeding through the books at such blinding speed that you couldn't catch up. Although I could be wrong. XD

Well, Bujold gave the in-world chronological reading order as:

Falling Free
Shards of Honor
Barrayar
The Warrior's Apprentice
"The Mountains of Mourning"
"Weatherman"
The Vor Game
Cetaganda
Ethan of Athos
Borders of Infinity
"Labyrinth"
"The Borders of Infinity"
Brothers in Arms
Mirror Dance
Memory
Komarr
A Civil Campaigng
"Winterfair Gifts"
Diplomatic Immunity
Captain Vorpatril's Alliance
CryoBurn

and I'm currently on the Mountains of Mourning. Given what else is on my plate, it'll probably take me at least a month to get to and then finish Cetaganda, and quite a while longer to get through all the books after it (though I'll probably feel safe to start reading the threads once I'm done with Cetaganda, I think?)

Aha. Yeah. I have no idea whether we will be faster or slower than a month-per-book pace.

I don't think you need to finish Cetaganda to read our thread (unless you just want to read everything first), since we're basically doing the opening conversation verbatim.

This is good to know! I want to read these threads as soon as possible and I will be done with Vor Game much sooner than Cetaganda.

Yeah. OTOH technically our thread will contain spoilers for Cetaganda, but only insofar as we retrace the canon plot points.

Do you intend to template Miles and/or Ivan?

I am eagerly alert for any new opportunities to put Mileses places. Especially if I can follow up with a (spoiler for replacement of canon Vorkosigan Saga character with preexisting template) JokerSherlock as his clone. But Miles is very tied to his circumstances, so it'll be hard to get him transplanted anywhere.

Ivan is now in my repertoire, but I don't actively seek places to put him.
