Given what Maira offered Isabella, she obviously doesn’t know her all that well, or something else is going on*. If that’s the case, though, Maitimë should be able to tell the difference between Isabella-for-real and Maira-as-Isabella, at least with eidetic memory so she has all the true interactions. So my question is why can’t Maitimë tell the difference, or why did Maira want Isabella to think she didn’t understand her, and which of those branches is it?
* That clause belongs at the end of every sentence including Maira or her alts, of course.
