Is there some sort of upper bound and/or predictability on charging/duration times? I.e. if you try to charge a simple spell for an hour and nothing happens, can you be pretty sure that you screwed up somehow, or could it be that it actually takes four hours to cast the spell for some reason?

I meant Hexes, but you know with 5, 4, 3 or 2 spell slots

There isn't exactly a hard cap, but they're really unlikely to take more than half an hour to charge and duration is not likely to get you through more than a few hours unless it's an instantaneous-and-then-permanent thing. You can't charge a spell that doesn't work at all, so it would be unlikely to find yourself still charging one after half an hour (you have to pick what what spell you're charging, even if you're only going to abandon it; you can't just charge).

There's no way to use 2-5 spells at once. It's one or all six.

I was sort of picturing some one trying a immortality spell/hex and charging it for days at time.

There's no carryover, so even if you somehow wound up with a spell with days of charging time (...mind you could not sleep) you still couldn't spend more than six slots on it.

I was commenting on the charging time, I understood there is no benefit to carryover between days.

Do familiars have a tendency to be regional animals? or they can be from anywhere?

We haven't spent a lot of time talking about what kinds of things familiars could be. The ones you've seen mentioned are basically all the ones we have decided. So regionality could go either way.

Could a hex be used to make a "magic wand" activated-use object sort of thing that could be used to spam many copies of a normal spell (possibly with) no charge time? Would such an object have a cooldown time (or coolup time, if it needs to charge), or a limited total number of uses before becoming permanently useless, or some other limiter?

I don't think you can do that, but maybe Aestrix has an idea for making it work. I think Iobel would have a bunch if they were doable, though.
